Johnson’s roughly three-year catalog includes rock songs, acoustic ballads, bedroom pop, and much more.

First Single

As an ambitious 15-year-old, Silas Johnson released his first ever single, “POPCULTUREICON,” on June 12th, 2021. This track featured a catchy guitar riff, overdriven solos, and a climactic key change - everything an emo 15-year-old lives for. Since then, he has moved on from the punk-rock sound and has leaned more into an acoustic, singer-songwriter music style.

Collaborating

Following the release of “POPCULTUREICON,” Independent Bedroom Pop artist MARSHALL BENTON reached out to Johnson in order to feature him on his next EP, “UPDATE.”  “CLOUD9,” was the result of their efforts, the longest song in both of their discographies (5 minutes and 31 seconds). Benton’s high-ended vocals and Lo-fi sound mixed with Johnson’s guitar playing and baritone voice created a truly iconic song in the early stages of both of their careers.

Apology

Johnson’s most recent single, “Apology,” crosses over into a more modern sound, featuring background vocals, saw bass, and heavy guitars that play during the song’s climax. The piece dances between 4/4 and 7/8 time signatures, and uses a slow build to captivate it’s listeners until it’s final note.

TAKE 10

After the success of Johnson and Benton’s first collaboration, the two decided to join forces to create a ten-minute concept EP, featuring three original songs that perfectly mesh their two styles together. The EP was released on November 10th, 2023, and has received a lot of positive feedback from listeners.
